As we approach the Holiday Season in December we will be preparing for some special events. Beginning on Tuesday, December 15th until Saturday, December 19th we will have small Christmas parties between classes. Ms Crystal will provide cupcakes and juice. Please do not feel obligated, but you may bring in treats, drinks or paper products if you like. Dance Spectrum will be closing for the holidays on Monday, December 21st and will reopen for classes on Tuesday, January 5th. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and best wishes for a Happy New Year.

Upcoming MAPS Performances

Sunday December 20th is the Holiday Dance Festival at the Playground in Atlantic City to benefit people suffering from Multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinsons disease. Some of our intermediate and advanced classes and our Student Dance Company are dancing in this show. If your class was selected and you plan on participating, please sign up on bulletin board. Admission is free and donations to the MAPS foundation are appreciated. We invite all to attend our 3pm performance, across from Caesars on the 3rd floor of the Playground. Please see instructor for instructions on what your child is expected to wear if his/her class was selected. Dancers should arrive at 2:30pm in costume and park on Missouri Ave.

Thanksgiving Day Parade

Congratulations to our Student Dance Company Members that danced in the 6abc Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia.  Brooke Mischlich, Cassie Booth, Elaina Tarapilli, and Julianna Herrera all participated in this exciting event.  We had a blast and hope you saw us on TV!  Our dancers appeared in the opening number and three other times throughout the parade.

Annual Recital

The recital is scheduled for the second weekend in June at the Stockton Performing Arts Center. Ms Crystal is working on a recital theme. Thanks to everyone who has already contributed to this idea. If you are participating in the recital, a $20 costume deposit is due now for each costume. In January we will be measuring students for costumes. You can estimate your costume bill now by calculating between $55 – $65 for each costume. Costumes must be paid for in full by Saturday, January 9th. We will only order your costume if you paid. We must order costumes that early in order to receive them by picture day in May. Any costume paid later than this date will require $15 late fee and will be ordered later than the rest and may not arrive by picture day. Some costumes are unavailable in late orders.

If a class is canceled due to weather, you may make up in any class appropriate for your age/level. A canceled class does not affect perfect attendance even if you do not make it up. If you are making up a sick day, you will not qualify for perfect attendance award. Please do not come to dance sick just for an award. Remember, there are other awards presented at the recital.

If classes are canceled due to severe weather a message will be on the answering machine. Please call 45min. before class – 625-2880.
